As the curtains closed on this year’s “Healthcare Heroes in the Making” fundraising campaign, which ended on 31 March 2025, we take a heartfelt moment to reflect on the journey we have shared. Every milestone reached, every student supported, and every dream kept alive, has been made possible because of you.

You, our donors, are the heart of everything we do.

Since our humble beginnings, SMA Charity Fund (SMACF) has held fast to one belief: that no aspiring doctor should be held back from pursuing medicine because of financial hardship. Thanks to your kindness and generosity, this vision continues to flourish.

To date, more than $5 million has been raised, with over 566 bursaries awarded and more than $3.55 million disbursed. Behind each of these numbers is a story: a young, passionate individual who can now pursue their medical journey with dignity and focus, free from the constant worry of making ends meet.

These bursaries are more than just financial aid – they are a symbol of hope. They give these medical students breathing space, confidence and the belief that someone out there believes in their potential. You are not just donating; you are shaping the future of healthcare, one student at a time.

This year, we are excited to invite you on a deeper journey with us through our refreshed donor campaign: Journey with SMACF.

We named this campaign to honour and celebrate the role of our donors in our students’ stories. It also serves as a heartfelt invitation to you, to walk alongside our beneficiaries as they navigate their journey through medicine.

To show our appreciation, we have introduced special donor tiers with meaningful gifts and recognition.

All donations from $150 and above will receive:

· An SMACF exclusive donor gift

Donations from $12,000 to $30,000 (supporting two to five students) will receive:

· An SMACF exclusive donor gift

· Recognition on SMACF’s website and annual report

· Invitation to SMA Annual Dinner and SMA Members’ Appreciation Night

Donations from $36,000 to $48,000 (supporting six to eight students) will receive:

· An SMACF exclusive donor gift

· Bursaries awarded will be specially named in collaboration with SMA Medical Students’ Assistance Fund Recognition on SMACF’s website and annual report

· Invitation to SMA Annual Dinner and SMA Members’ Appreciation Night

· Invitation to SMACF Bursary Recipients’ Engagement Event
